In once-through systems, the water has very short contact time (seconds to minutes), so a fast-acting threshold inhibitor is required. Deposit Controller 277 works by crystal distortion and chelation – it interferes with calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate crystal growth at the nucleation stage, preventing them from adhering to surfaces. It is effective at very low dosages (2-5 ppm), making it economical for high-flow applications.
