Innova Corporate (India) supplies Glutaraldehyde (25% or 50% active solution) – a broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing biocide for Amritsar's industrial water treatment, leather processing, textile, and food applications. Glutaraldehyde is highly effective against bacteria (including SRB and Legionella), fungi, and algae over a wide pH range (6-9). For Amritsar's cooling towers in leather tanneries, textile mills (Verka area), hotels (near Golden Temple), and dairy plants, glutaraldehyde provides rapid kill and residual activity (2-10 days), making it ideal for weekly shock dosing at 50-150 ppm. For reverse osmosis (RO) systems in tanneries (chrome recovery, water recycling) and food processing units, it is used for membrane sanitization (0.5-1% solution for 30 minutes) and storage (0.1-0.5% as preservative) – it does not damage polyamide (TFC) membranes at recommended concentrations. In leather tanning, glutaraldehyde is used as a pre-tanning agent and biocide – it stabilizes collagen and reduces bacterial damage during soaking, significantly improving hide quality. For Amritsar's food processing units (papad, pickle, spices), glutaraldehyde is used as a sanitizer for equipment and work surfaces (200-400 ppm). The product is non-foaming and compatible with most scale inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors (except strong reducing agents like sulfite). It has a characteristic pungent odor – proper ventilation is required during handling. Its half-life in water is 2-10 days depending on pH, temperature, and organic load – in Amritsar's summer (45°C/113°F), half-life reduces to 2-3 days, which is environmentally beneficial for discharge to CETP. Glutaraldehyde is synergistic with quaternary ammonium compounds and DBNPA – often used in rotation to prevent resistance. Available in 25L carboys, 200L drums, and 1000L IBCs (25% or 50% concentrations). For food contact applications, we provide 50% glutaraldehyde with FDA 21 CFR 173.255 compliance. Shelf life: 2 years when stored below 30°C (86°F). We provide on-site residual testing using Schiff's reagent.
Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 100 to 125 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters. Although heavily slimed cooling systems may need 200 to 300 ppm as an initial, cleanup shock dose.
INNOVA BCD 500 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 100 to 150 ppm of INNOVA BCD 500 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 80 to 125 ppm of INNOVA BCD 500.
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 500 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Use of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
INNOVA BCD 500 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs
