Innova Corporate (India) offers a high-strength, synergistic biocide blend containing glutaraldehyde (25-50%), DBNPA (10-20%), and quaternary ammonium compounds (5-10%) plus proprietary penetrants for Amritsar's most challenging industrial applications – especially leather tanneries, textile processing, and food processing ETPs with severe biological fouling. Amritsar's tannery cluster (Jalandhar Road) generates wastewater with high organic loads (COD 3000-8000 mg/L, BOD 1500-4000 mg/L), warm temperatures (35-45°C), fats, proteins, and sulfides, leading to thick biofilms (5-10 mm) on equipment, pipelines, and heat exchangers. This biocide formulation penetrates established biofilms, breaks down EPS (extracellular polymeric substances), and kills sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), iron-oxidizing bacteria, and slime-forming pseudomonads that produce corrosive H₂S and cause biofouling of membranes and heat exchangers. For cooling water systems in Amritsar's tanneries and textile mills, severe fouling can reduce heat exchange efficiency by 30-50% and increase energy consumption. Our product provides a rapid initial kill (99.9% reduction within 2 hours) followed by residual activity for up to 72 hours. It is effective at high temperatures (up to 55°C/131°F) and over pH 5-9. For severe cases (e.g., when cooling tower fill media is visibly slime-covered and odor of H₂S is present), we recommend a shock dose of 200-400 ppm once weekly for 4-8 weeks until the system recovers, then a maintenance dose of 50-100 ppm continuously or daily. Compatible with non-ionic and cationic dispersants (use with our bio-dispersant for synergistic biofilm removal). For Amritsar's common effluent treatment plant (CETP) for tanneries experiencing sludge bulking due to filamentous bacteria (Microthrix, Nocardia), this biocide can be used to selectively control filaments, but extreme caution is required – on-site microbial identification is essential. Method of Feeding :

    INNOVA BCD 417 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.

Feed Requirements :

    Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 25 to 50 ppm of INNOVA BCD 417 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 20 to 40 ppm of INNOVA BCD 417.

Control Testing :

    The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 417 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.

    Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
