Innova Corporate (India) supplies a specialized Antiscalant for High Silica Water to address a critical challenge in Dubai's brackish groundwater sources, particularly in industrial zones like Jebel Ali, Dubai Industrial City, and Al Quoz where groundwater can contain elevated silica levels (40-90 ppm as SiO₂) due to the region's geology (sandstone aquifers). Silica scaling is particularly problematic in reverse osmosis (RO) systems used in district cooling plants (makeup water), pharmaceutical, and food processing because it forms hard, glassy deposits that are nearly impossible to remove chemically. Our specialized antiscalant contains amine-functionalized polymers, organophosphonates, and proprietary silica inhibitors that prevent amorphous silica polymerization and magnesium silicate (MgSiO₃) formation. For Dubai's district cooling and industrial RO plants operating at high recoveries (75-85%) to conserve water, this product enables sustainable operation without frequent chemical cleaning. For seawater RO plants (though silica is less of an issue, it can still occur), it provides additional protection. The antiscalant works by modifying silica particle surface charge, keeping them dispersed in the reject stream. It is effective up to 150 ppm silica and at pH 7-10. In Dubai's hot climate (50°C/122°F), where silica solubility decreases, our formulation maintains stability. Field trials in Dubai district cooling RO plants showed a 60% extension in membrane cleaning intervals (from 2 months to 5 months). The product is biodegradable and meets Dubai Municipality and DEWA norms for ZLD discharge. Dosage: 2-10 ppm. Available in 200L drums, 1000L IBCs. Treatment & Dosage Requirements in Dubai :

    In calculating the dose rate of Tacelene Chem-7066 for industrial units in Dubai, the membrane manufacturer's operating limits and local feed water quality should be strictly considered. All dose rate calculations for the city's water systems should be made on the computer projection programme "e-WATER 5.0", which calculates the SCR for Silica based on regional mineral profiles.

    Generally recommended dosage for Dubai facilities is 1 ppm in the feed water for every 6 to 7ppm of total silica in the feed water, depending on the operating pH and temperature of the local processing environment.

    At 25°C, pH 7 to 7.5 with 240mg/l silica in the concentrate, Tacelene Chem-7066 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 10 mg/L. For operations within Dubai, Tacelene chem.-7066 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. Continuous feed and correct levels are essential for the capital city's machinery, since silica fouled membranes are difficult to clean.

    When both dissolved and colloidal silica is present in the Dubai water supply, silica fouling can be difficult to predict because of the complexity of the silica reaction chemistry.

Principle Uses

    Tacelene chem.-7066 has been developed specially as a SILICA inhibitor, for waters with SCR <1.3 to 4.2 mg/l.

    For Ipb/Ksp ratios < 3 the preffered product of choice is Tacelene Chem-7065; for ratios 2.8 to 7.0, INNOVA MT 065 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 25 mg/L in the concentrate, which is equivalent to 2.5 to 6 mg/L in the feed water, dependent on the system recovery.

    INNOVA MT 065 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. Continuous feed is essential since calcium sulphate is difficult to remove once precipitation has occurred.

Handling:

    Do not store the material in open, store in cool dark place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. This product exhibits very low order of oral toxicity. No special care is required in handling this product.

    Avoid contacts with eyes, skin and food. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with large amount of water several times. If swallowed drink large amount of water or milk and get medical attention immediately. Do not re-use the empty container, destroy it.
