In Chhattisgarh's cooling towers – serving Bhilai Steel Plant, Korba power plants, aluminium smelters, and cement factories – the high evaporation rate due to summer heat (45°C/113°F) concentrates calcium, magnesium, and silica, causing sticky sludge that reduces heat transfer efficiency by 20-30%.
