Innova Corporate (India) offers Thione-based biocides (2-mercaptobenzothiazole – MBT, or sodium salt) for Bihar's metalworking fluids, closed-loop water systems, and industrial lubricants used in engineering workshops, sugar mill maintenance shops, and small metal fabrication units (Patna, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur). Thione compounds are effective against Pseudomonas species that form tenacious, slimy biofilms in recirculating cooling systems and metalworking fluid sumps. For Bihar's engineering and automotive repair workshops, thione-based biocides are added to cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and hydraulic oils to prevent rancidity, bacterial degradation, and odor. Typical dosage: 50-150 ppm initially, then 10-30 ppm weekly extends fluid life from 3 months to over 12 months. In closed cooling loops (chillers, diesel generator jackets, process cooling in sugar mills), thione provides long-term preservation without breaking down – it is stable up to 80°C (176°F) and over pH 6-10. It works by chelating essential metal ions (copper, iron, zinc) from microbial enzymes, effectively starving the microorganisms. Thione is non-foaming, non-volatile, and has very low odor – important for workshops located in mixed-use areas. However, it can stain yellow metals (copper, brass) at high concentrations (above 500 ppm). For sugar mill cooling systems with copper alloy heat exchangers, we recommend lower dosage or the use of a tolyltriazole (TTZ) corrosion inhibitor. The product is available as a 40-50% active liquid dispersion and as a 98% active powder. Available in 25L, 200L drums (liquid) and 25kg bags (powder). We provide on-site microbial dip slides and plate counts to monitor fluid health for Bihar's workshops. Shelf life: 24 months.

Dosage :

    Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 15 to 30 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters.

Method of Feeding :

    INNOVA BCD 505 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.

Feed Requirements :

    Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 30 to 50 ppm of INNOVA BCD 505 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 20 to 30 ppm of INNOVA BCD 505.

Control Testing :

    The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 505 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.

    Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
