Food Grade Di-Thio Carbamate based biocide (active ingredient: sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate – SDDC, or disodium ethylene bis dithiocarbamate – DEDTC) from Innova Corporate is a specialized antimicrobial formulation for Ahmedabad's food processing and beverage industry – including dairy plants (Amul, Dudhsagar, and smaller milk chilling centers), soft drink bottlers (Coca-Cola, Pepsi franchises), fruit processing units (mango pulp, guava, pickles, and traditional Gujarati snacks like namkeen, chakli, fafda), and confectionery manufacturers. SDDC is effective against a wide range of bacteria (including spore-formers), molds, and yeasts without imparting taste, odor, or color to the final product. It is approved for indirect food contact under FDA 21 CFR 173.310 (for use in sugar syrups, wash water, and cooling water that contacts food containers). For Ahmedabad's sugar-based sweets and syrup storage tanks (e.g., for jalebi, gulab jamun, and ice cream toppings), adding 10-50 ppm of this biocide to sugar syrups (50-70 Brix) prevents fermentation, gas formation, and mold growth during storage at ambient temperatures (Ahmedabad's summer 35-45°C). The product is non-foaming and stable over pH 6-10. It exhibits rapid kill (contact time 30 minutes at 50 ppm) and degrades relatively quickly in the environment (half-life 1-3 days in water). For cooling towers serving dairy chillers and food plant HVAC systems, this biocide prevents Legionella and other pathogens without corroding stainless steel (304/316) or copper alloys. Unlike oxidizing biocides (chlorine, bromine, ozone), it does not produce harmful disinfection byproducts (THMs, HAAs) and is safe for food contact if residual levels are controlled. Dosing recommendation: 25-75 ppm once daily, or 150 ppm weekly shock dose. It works synergistically with glutaraldehyde – a combination often used for biofilm control in dairy pipelines. The product is certified HALAL and Kosher for Ahmedabad's export-oriented food units (many snack and spice manufacturers export to the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia). For reverse osmosis systems in beverage plants, this biocide can be used as a non-oxidizing sanitizer for RO membranes (check membrane compatibility – it is safe for polyamide at low concentrations). Available in 25L carboys, 200L drums, and 1000L IBCs (with food-grade inner coating). We provide certificates of analysis, FDA compliance letters, and HALAL/Kosher certifications upon request. Shelf life: 18 months.
