Isothiazoline (Isothiazolinone) based biocide from Innova Corporate is a broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing preservative and microbicide for Agra's industrial water systems, paints, adhesives, metalworking fluids, and cooling towers. The active ingredient is a blend of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT) in a 3:1 ratio, typically at 1.5% or 14% active concentration. For cooling towers (hotels, tanneries, textile mills), isothiazoline is effective at 1-15 ppm for controlling bacteria, algae, and fungi. It is non-foaming, stable over pH 3-9, and does not produce toxic byproducts. For Agra's water-based paint manufacturing (small units), isothiazoline prevents in-can spoilage at 0.05-0.1%. For leather finishing, it protects wet-blue from fungal attack. One key advantage is its long residual activity (1-3 weeks), making it ideal for low-maintenance treatment of small cooling towers. However, it should not be used in systems with reducing agents (sulfite) or strong nucleophiles. The product is supplied as a clear liquid with a slight odor. Available in 25L, 200L drums. For Agra's dairy and food processing, we have a preservative-free alternative (not suitable). For reverse osmosis systems, isothiazoline can be used but avoid contact with membranes at high concentration. We provide biocide rotation programs (alternating with glutaraldehyde or DBNPA) to prevent resistance. Shelf life: 12 months (store in cool, dark place). For biofilm control, use a dispersant with isothiazoline.
