Biocides Di Bromo Nitrilo Propioniamide Based (INNOVA BCD 416) in Agra

Our Di-Bromo Nitrilo Propioniamide (DBNPA) based biocide is a fast-acting, non-oxidizing antimicrobial designed for Agra's industrial water treatment applications where rapid microbial control and quick degradation are required. DBNPA (also known as 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide) is highly effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), iron bacteria, and slime-forming organisms prevalent in Agra's cooling towers and paper mills. The key advantage for Agra's sensitive environments (near Taj Mahal) is its rapid hydrolysis – within 4-12 hours, DBNPA breaks down into non-toxic, biodegradable byproducts, making it environmentally acceptable for discharge into Agra's municipal sewage systems or CETPs. This biocide is particularly valuable for intermittent (shock) treatment of cooling water systems in Agra's hotels and shopping complexes where guests cannot tolerate strong chemical odors. DBNPA is effective at low concentrations (10-50 ppm) and exhibits excellent performance in alkaline pH (up to 8.5) and high temperatures (40-50°C). Unlike quaternary ammonium compounds, DBNPA does not cause foaming. However, it should be stored below 30°C. For Agra's leather tanneries, DBNPA is used to control bacterial degradation of hide proteins during soaking. The product is also registered for use in food contact applications (FDA) but not for continuous feed due to short half-life.

Advantages in Agra:

  • INNOVA BCD 416 can be considered as an oxidizer, since bromine content it oxidize bacterial substrate found in regional water sources.
  • It functions in conjunction with chlorine to provide comprehensive sanitation for local systems.
  • INNOVA BCD 416 is suitable for once through cooling systems in Agra, because of its fast acting biocidal action (contact time often less than 1 hour).

Dosage for Agra Operations:

Dosage in cooling water treatment programs is 25 to 35 ppm for effective control of biocide activity for cooling waters across Agra.

Method of Feeding :

INNOVA BCD 416 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.

Feed Requirements :

Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. Initial Dose - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 35 to 55 ppm of INNOVA BCD 416 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 25 to 50 ppm of INNOVA BCD 416.

Control Testing :

The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 416 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.

Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.

Packing :

    INNOVA BCD 416 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs.
