Category :

Condenser Descalant is a blend of acids with inhibitors. It is designed to remove mineral scales, metal oxide (rust) and silica scale deposits in water systems that are subject to deposit accumulation. Typical tasks are descaling of condenser, evaporator, heat exchangers, evaporative condensers, boilers, geysers, solar heaters, blow mouding machines, gear box, steel parts cleaning, vacuum pump decalcifying etc.

Condenser Descalant is inhibited to protect cleaned surfaces from acidic attack. It can be used on most common metals such as MS, SS, Copper, Cast Iron, Copper alloys such as Cu-Ni except zinc and galvanized surface.

Application and Dosage
Condenser Descalant is used in various applications and at different concentration ratio depending upon the amount and type of deposit and system parameters. Normally for a system with hard scale deposits a 20% v/v solution is commended. 

Preferably this solution should be made with pre-heated water at 70-80oC. The total volume of solution should be about 1.2 times of water holding capacity of equipment to be descaled. Recirculate the solution for about 6 hours using an acid compatible pump. After descaling it is necessary to passivate system with 2% solution of Passivating Chemical into the last rinse and return to normal service.

Important
1. For extremely rock hard and thick scaling it is commended to soften the scale prior to descaling by recirculating and soaking 5-10% solution of scale softner for 2-3 hours followed with rinsing with plain water before dosing descalant. 

2. After dosing chemical never heat solution by firing burners. 

Handling measures and precautions
Proper human safety products such as Splash goggles, lab coat, vapor respirator, gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush it with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected. Heat Exchanger Descalant is a 3-in-1 compound for removal of scale, rust and greasy deposits in water systems. It removes heavy deposits of water scale and iron oxides very effectively. It is perfectly suitable for removing lime and rust deposits and oily contaminants.

Application & Dosage

Heat Exchanger Descalant is suitable for removal of moderate scale and rust deposits from system at very low concentration.

It can be used in following three methods:-
1. Basic Re-circulation circuit method
2. Fill and soak method where re-circulation circuit is not possible
3. Immersion method for small metal pieces

Dosage varies from 2-10% w/w solution, depending upon the severity of soil and scale deposits to be removed and nature of metal.

After cleaning the system should be passivated for Protection against flash rusting due to low pH. This is done by recirculating or soaking the system for 30-60 mins in 2% w/w solution of PASSIRINSE for surface passivation and acidity neutralizing. After passivation rinse the system with normal water and return to normal service.

If a system is to be kept idle for some time, it is recommended to fill it with 1% solution of PASSIRINSE, for system preservation against rusting.

Silica Scale Remover is a powder based additive for descaling solutions for silica or silicates scales removal from heat exchangers, condensers and boiler tubes. The product is inhibited with corrosion inhibitors but special care must be taken towards handling and storage of product. The product has ability to dissolve glass or glasswares.

It can be used on most common metals such as MS, SS, Cast Iron, Copper, copper alloys and aluminum but not on galvanized surfaces. Silica Scale Remover is compatible with ALSTASCALE DS80, DS85, DS40 and CHEMCLEAN range of acidic descalants.

Silica Removal With Ease: Silica is amongst the most hard deposit and difficult to remove from heat exchanger like condenser tubes and boiler tubes. Silica Scale Remover makes silica and silicate deposit removal very easy.

Inbuilt Corrosion Inhibition: Silica Scale Remover is inhibited for corrosion protection of system metallurgy.

Compatibility: Silica Scale Remover is compatible with other acidic descalant compounds, which makes it easier to removal all scale deposits in one step of descaling.

Application & Dosage :

Silica Scale Remover is added with other descalants in the ratio of 20%-40% w/w of acidic descalant or 2-10% w/v of the total water hold up volume. The solution is then re-circulated into the heat exchanger or boiler tubes for prescribed duration. After the descaling is complete drain out the descaling solution and passivate the system to avoid flash rusting with ALSTASCALE PS20 (liquid) or PASSIRINSE (powder).

Passivation Chemical is an alkaline blend of passivation chemical that is biodegradable and non-inflamable.

Passivation Chemical neutralizes and passivates the metal surface after acidic cleaning, pickling, descaling or derusting of metal surface. It inhibits the chances of flash rusting that happens when the acidic and un-passivated metal surface gets exposed to air (oxygen).

Application & Dosage

Passivation Chemical is used at a concentration of 4-5% w/w for acidic surface passivation and pH neutralization. It is always recommended to rinse the system with plain water once after descaling or acid pickling before adding Passivation Chemical to the solution.

Passivation Chemicals hould always be poured into water and not vice versa.

In case of descaling operation, if the system is to be left idle for more than a day, then it should be filled & soaked with 1% Passivation Chemical solution for metal preservation. While, in case of post-pickling passivation and neutralization, the bath pH should be maintained above 10.0.
