Innova Corporate (India) supplies Glutaraldehyde (25% or 50% active solution) – a broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing biocide for Mumbai's industrial water treatment, refineries, pharma, and food applications. Glutaraldehyde is highly effective against bacteria (including SRB and Legionella), fungi, and algae over a wide pH range (6-9). For Mumbai's cooling towers in refineries (BPCL, HPCL), pharmaceutical plants, commercial high-rises, and data centers, glutaraldehyde provides rapid kill and residual activity (2-10 days), making it ideal for weekly shock dosing at 50-150 ppm. For reverse osmosis (RO) systems in pharma and ZLD plants, it is used for membrane sanitization (0.5-1% solution for 30 minutes) and storage – it does not damage polyamide membranes. For hotel and hospital HVAC (Legionella control), glutaraldehyde is a trusted biocide. The product is non-foaming and compatible with most scale inhibitors. It has a characteristic pungent odor – proper ventilation required. Its half-life in water is 2-10 days depending on pH, temperature, and organic load – in Mumbai's warm climate, half-life is 3-5 days, environmentally beneficial for discharge. Glutaraldehyde is synergistic with quaternary ammonium compounds and DBNPA. Available in 25L carboys, 200L drums, and 1000L IBCs (25% or 50% concentrations). For food contact applications (dairy, seafood), we provide 50% glutaraldehyde with FDA compliance. Shelf life: 2 years when stored below 30°C. We provide on-site residual testing using Schiff's reagent.
Our INNOVA BCD 500 is an ideal solution for cooling towers, oilfield water systems, and paper mills in Bombay, where high stability and deep penetration are critical for performance. It works effectively across a wide pH range common in the region's water sources, offering a reliable and sterile operating environment that optimizes heat transfer and prevents costly downtime. This robust biocide is a cornerstone for maintaining efficient industrial water treatment processes and protecting high-value assets throughout the city.
Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 100 to 125 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters. Although heavily slimed cooling systems may need 200 to 300 ppm as an initial, cleanup shock dose.
INNOVA BCD 500 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 100 to 150 ppm of INNOVA BCD 500 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 80 to 125 ppm of INNOVA BCD 500.
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 500 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Use of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
INNOVA BCD 500 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs
