Biocides TCMTB Based (INNOVA BCD 504) in Assam

Innova Corporate (India) supplies TCMTB-based biocide (2-(thiocyanomethylthio) benzothiazole) for Assam's wood preservation, leather (if any), and industrial water treatment sectors. TCMTB is particularly effective against fungi, molds, and wood-rotting organisms – critical for Assam's tea garden infrastructure (wooden drying racks, packing crates, pallets) and furniture/handicraft industry especially during the high-humidity monsoon. In tea processing, TCMTB can be used to treat wooden storage platforms to prevent mold growth on tea leaves. For cooling water systems in Assam's paper mills and refineries, TCMTB provides excellent fungal and bacterial control at low concentrations: 5-20 ppm continuous or 50-100 ppm shock. It works by inhibiting key enzymes involved in cellular respiration and ATP production. TCMTB is stable over pH 5-9 and resistant to high temperatures (up to 70°C/158°F). Unlike oxidizing biocides, TCMTB does not cause corrosion of mild steel or copper – important for cooling systems. In paper mills, it controls slime and fungal growth on paper machine wires and felts. The product has low water solubility – formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate (30-40% active). Always shake or stir well before use. For wood treatment (tea garden structures, pallets for tea export), we supply a high-concentration (>50%) TCMTB solution for dip or spray treatment. For textile (silk) sizing, TCMTB is used as a mildew-proofing agent. Environmental note: TCMTB is toxic to aquatic life – discharge to CETP must be controlled. Use PPE. Available in 25L, 200L drums (emulsion) and 20kg pails (neat). Shelf life: 12-18 months. We provide on-site residual analysis (HPLC) for large customers.

Dosage :

    Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 20 to 50 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters.

Method of Feeding :

    INNOVA BCD 504 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.

Feed Requirements :

    Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 40 to 75 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 30 to 65 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504.

Control Testing :

    The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 504 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.

    Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
